I see it as Galactor having controlling interests in various corporations, in addition to outright (if disguised) ownership. Not everyone in a given corporation is Galactor, but near the top, people wear these funny little red pins....

Then there are the politicians and others who are either Galactor members, or who have accepted aid from Galactor for some reason. The organization controls Einshutan, as good as owns BC Island, and has people in positions elsewhere.

Against them? The UN, the ISO, and the Science Ninja Team.

Can you imagine how paranoid politics must become once people learn how deeply Galactor has infiltrated around the world? If you thought our last Presidential election was acrimonious, imagine Galactor in the mix. (And the agents would be in both parties: that way, no matter which party won, Galactor would have someone in government.)

Thanks for another great recap and screencaps, LB and Saturn! Sorry for my late intervention ... it's only today that I had been able to read it!

I agree with all the comments regarding how opportune it was to show the Swan's desire to be seen in other clothes rather than in her everyday uniform! I so do not envy her! And I so wished Ken to notice her too during the fashion show! The first time I saw this episode, and the first time I saw Jun modelling I just was awaiting the other SNT members' attention falling on her splendor ... just like in other series or shows! This would have surely boosted up the Swan's confidence in her appearance and would have delighted her as it would delight every single woman on Earth!

I honestly did not think the "Bird Whip" was a great deal, as a technique and as it was named! I always chuckle as I keep remembering a Whipping Cream item of the "Bird's" brand! Hope I'm not infringing any publicity issue here!

Hi all!

I figured that I should point out yet another ADV-ism that came up in this episode. Flake is a Queen, not the Princess. I can only guess that they did this because the Kingdom appears to be based loosely on Monaco, with Queen Flake based on Princess Grace. By making Flake a Princess, they made the tie-in a little closer, if less accurate to the original.

Thanks for the info, James! I did wonder why Flake, if she was the ruler, was called "Princess" and not "Queen," figuring it was possibly an allusion to Monaco or maybe a case of Japanese terms for royal persons not corresponding exactly with English ones.

There were actually once a lot of Kingdoms and Principalities in Europe that had a ruling Prince or Princess rather than King or Queen. Some of them didn't even have that - if the nation was near Russia, it was sometimes a Grand Duke ruling.

Not to mention all those interconnections between families and who used to rule whom back in the day (which no doubt affected the titles used) and so on.

The narration says that Monalince is a new kingdom. How new, and how did it split off from its parent country? And why did the parent country allow such a wealthy region to leave? (Although the wealth could have come later, as the nation invested in scientific research and development, computer technologies, and so forth.)

Since this is the only episode to deal with this country, we'll never know for certain the history that led to its creation. We can figure that it had to have happened at least a few years ago, since they had an established tradition of holding a fashion show on the anniversary of the founding of the kingdom.

To many the US is still a "new" country. I would gather that to a country like Japan that goes back centuries (if not millennia) than any country under a couple hundren years old is new.

That is a cookie.

There is a British chocolate bar called a Flake made by Cadbury. Very delicious. I have only been able to find them in Britain when I go to visit relatives.

I LOVE Cadbury's Flake ... I also like to add it to a bowl of ice-cream, making it more indulging, as a perfect accompaniment! It complements it a lot!

Oh my, I go off for a bit and look what I've started! Yes, I meant Cadbury Flakes. The white chocolate ones (Snow Flakes) are my favorite. In the US, they are imported.

Cost Plus is my usual source. They have them at some specialty stores in San Francisco as well. You can occasionally find them at 'ethnic' shops of a European bent. For example, there's a 'Scottish' store in the City that sells them. Any kind of place that sells British/European chocolates.

I've also occasionally seen a good price for a case on Amazon.

For the Canadians out there, they are like Aeros, but better. Think that crumbly, flakey middle part that's light, but for the entire thing.
