I know I had seen some of the characters from Teen Titans in bird outfits like G-Force and apparently the producer of the show is a fan of BOTP. In one episode he refers to "Clash of the Planets" which turns out to be a parody of Star Wars:

Wow I guess not knowing about the show back then, these references really flew over my head.

I've seen several people say how they watched G-Force on Cartoon Network, but I don't remember ever watching it. I must've blocked it out of my mind because I thought it was old and therefore not good. Or something...

Well, kind of.

There's Japanese company named Giga that is known for making S&M and bondage videos featuring costumed heroines. A few years back, they did a pair of videos featuring girls wearing Jun costumes. They were originally released on VHS, though one of them has been reissued on DVD. If you're over 18 years of age and want to see the covers, you can find them at the links below. It should go without saying, but these are definitely Not Safe For Work viewing:

From the cover photos, the costumes actually look fairly well done. I can't say anything about the content, as they are one Gatchaman-related collectible that I have refused to pursue. Yes, even I have my limits.

I remember when they first came out, there was some bozo selling copies from one of them on eBay. He was pushing them as a live-action Gatchaman video, and neglecting to mention exactly what type of video they were. I'm sure that more than one person found out the hard way...

Honestly, though, I can't say I'm really surprised... Given what Jun wears and the show's popularity among adults in Japan, it's to be expected that stuff like this crops up. What's surprising is that Tatsunoko didn't go after them...

Most of the cartoons I watched were on either Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon. All the older cartoons from the 70 - 80's I've seen were on CN before they came out with new stuff.

I don't really have a full understanding of Japanese copyright laws, but it seems as though studios turn a blind eye toward things like that as long as they don't use the name of the original production (Like if Giga advertised it as "Jun from Gatchaman") or any images from the original production (either film clips or still pictures from the series), as those might imply that the original production company was somehow involved. I'm sure there is more to it that I am unaware of, but, in general, that seems to be the way these things go.
