If we go a couple more drawings without a winner, Powerball will start making El Gordo look muy pequeño ! (This past Christmas, El Gordo was $2 billion.) The main difference between the two lotteries, though, is that El Gordo is split up into smaller prizes, so one person wouldn`t walk away with the full 2 billion.
Still, it`s hard to think it`s possible for one person to win enough money to pay off the debt of many small countries!
I just hope that the money goes toward doing good, no matter who wins it.

You mean it WASN'T won last night? How many draws has it been going on for then?
I know the UK Lotto only allows the jackpot prize to be rolled over three times, then on the fourth draw, if there's no outright jackpot winner, the jackpot is shared among any second prize winners. We'd never get jackpot prizes of that much!
How the Euro lottery works, I've no idea, but that has built some substantial jackpot prizes.

From what I could find, the last time the Powerball jackpot was won was in February 2015. Since it`s played twice a week, it`s been drawn almost 100 times now without a win.

Okay, I just discovered that was a mistake. This run started on November 4 at $40 million. It`s rolled over 20 times. Still -- !!!
