That is such sad news. I feel for her loved ones as well. I could see them recast the part or use a virtual actress with footage they already have. Personally I would rather see them write her out as sad as it is. It could lead to some good character development.

it is possible that they recast after waiting maybe a series, when viewers are less likely to notice a subtle change, ( I can see Howard possibly using the line "Mom's lost her voice - it's bliss")

or, in respect to the memory of Ms. Susi, they could find a fitting way to write the character out.

Either way, her passing is a sad loss to the program, and may she Rest in Peace.

It was very moving to read the tributes of the other actors and of the audience -- for a cast member with only a voice part, she was dearly loved.
