For 10 years Scout has been a YouTube star entertaining and charming all who saw him. He also helped his Hooman, Dro, educate -- Fennecs (like all exotic animals) require special care and devotion in order to live the healthiest, fullest life possible. It wasn't until a few days ago that Scout started showing his age. (He was 10; in captivity, Fennecs live between 10-14 years, if the human takes proper care of them.)
Anyway, after this video was shot, Scout became ill. Dro took him to the vet where he ended up putting the little guy down.

After watching him grow from a kit who seemed to instinctively know how to pose for the camera to a fussy old man (I even told Dro once that I thought Scout was a supermodel in a previous life -- he acted like such a diva!) I couldn't help crying when I learned of Scout's passing.
