Hello all.... thanks for the welcome! I'm still getting use to navigating the site here and there is a lot of great stuff.

Yes, I'm American and I first saw the series 10 years ago as G-Force: GOS on Cartoon Network. I just recently found out this year that it was orginally Gatchaman in Japan lol.... Well I have the complete set of Gatchaman on DVD and have been watching the episodes that I remember while I've been on vacation...

As for the shamrokchick.... I am a young chick lol and the shamrock is for my irish heritage Wink

How are you finding Gatchaman, compared to G-Force: GOS? I believe it wasn't nearly as edited as Battle of the Planets, but I'm sure there are differences, besides the name changes.

The name changes were the biggest difference for me. I'm still getting used to Ken, Joe, Jun, etc. G-Force wasn't as edited as BOTP and it didn't have that robot guy. Now that I'm older I do realize that the music in G-Force was terrible but I didn't care about that as a little kid. I just loved watching the team destroy all those crazy Gallactor machines.

I'm loving Gatchaman... the story line is similar to what I remember from G-Force. Also I'm enjoying seeing the original Japanese version w/ subs to compare with.

Wow, I think that was the most pleasant reference I've ever heard to Zark! My preference is "that stupid tin can"... Lol2

Anyway, I digress. What I really wanted to say was, that I hear you with the getting used to the names thing! It took me a while to get used to Ken, Joe, Jun, Jinpei, and Ryu instead of Mark, Jason, Princess, Tiny and Keyop. But now the Gatch characters slip off my tongue faster than the BoTP ones do. As for ER and GOS... For me it's like naming the Seven Dwarfs - I always forget at least one! ROFL 2

LOL I tried watching an episode of BOTP on youtube just to see the difference but couldn't finish because Zark just annoyed me too much. He looks like R2-D2 to me with arms...

I try to "fast-forward" through the Zark bits. For me, I have some trouble with Jason's voice -I'm so used to Joe, and his deep voice.
