I hoped your drool didn't go all over the equpiment otherwise, it may be a shocking experience.
Sorry, for that poor joke there.
And you are right, they may have free broadband but there could be other things. I will check out the cost of calls, though it's suppose to be chaper than BT. I am always a bit suspisous when it comes to anything that's free and very cheap as it sounds like one of those evil Spectre plans for taking ove the world.

I know that I was on a service that is slightly slower then what I have now but about 2/3rds cheaper. Since I moved 3 blocks away they don't have a service that reaches that far. Kinda makes me wonder how different 3 blocks make. Oh well they lost me to their service and thats bad cause like I said it's cheaper and fast enough for what I do on here.

You could be right, they may be other gings that I have to pay for which they haven't put in their ads but I will be checking that out soon.
Only 1 other compnay, Bulldog, has 8 meg broadband, but you have to pay about £30 for , the phone calls and broadband and I think ditigital telly as well I think but not too sure about the digital channels. Bt is going over to 8 meg soon.
Because of the Carphone Warehouse broadband going free and such, there may be a price war going on soon over broadband.

Most ISPs over in Britian cover most if not all of the country. BT covers the whole country obviously because it owns the phone line and therefore, everybody who uses the landlines must pay for the rental, whether they pay BT or other companies for phone calls.
But 3 blocks? Where do you live? Twilight Zone? Weird or what.

I have some friends who wanted to stick with their ISP but move from dialup to ADSL. So they got BT to check their line and, despite being close to the exchange, BT said they were too far from it to have ADSL from the ISP they wanted. All the lines went out from the exchange in one direction and they happened to be at the end of the near-circle that took the lines back in the direction of the exchange again.
However, BT insisted that they were not too far from the exchange to take BT's ADSL. So they generated a bit of publicity about it, and eventually got ADSL from the ISP they wanted. Apparently BT had been doing that to a lot of people.

My friends and I like to say that I live at the center of the universe. I live actually in a village (don't have much of anything here) and we are approximatly 10-12 miles away from any city around us. When I moved here 14 years ago it wasn't too bad, except that I'll always be an outsider too the town people. Makes it nice though cause they don't want to bug me all the time. Now it seems like the county law enforcment has deceided to make it their home. Guess they thought we were having too much fun. This is a dry villiage so you have to drive the 10-12 miles to get anything to help "clear" your mind and it does feel like the twilight zone sometimes.

My supervisor uses BT Broadband and likes it.
I'm sure BT Broadband is wonderful, as long as BT Broadband is what you want. If you want broadband down your phone line from another ISP but BT say you can't have it, you can only have theirs and it costs more, then that's not so good.

If your paying line rental on your phoneline, you may find that your actually paying for a full line and getting only 1/4 of it, since they use DACS to split your line and share it with other people to reduce their costs.
Yes but thats not what I mean. You are paying for a line but your not actually getting it, your sharing the same line connection with perhaps several other houses. Which means you should only really be paying for your share of the line not the entire line rental itself.

Your service is in effect cut into fractions.
Ah right, now that clear that up. Your are right and it's a stupid way to do it.
