Okay, I usually just let nature Be!But this time I declaring war

A group of wasps have once again set up house on my front veranda...last week we got rid of the nest (after they stung me on the foot 3 times)

Now they are back and they have brought friends (current count 12 and increasing) we can not enter or leave our house via the front door without them reacting

and once again , ususpecting me found out they were hiding under a chair on the veranda , they stung me 6 times (4 on the other foot and 2 on the knee, up my pj and I wasn't even F***G awake properly)

well after that I woke up quickly and the rest of the house as well, with my big girly screams, I also brought at least 4 of them into the house clinging to my cloths

and guess what....no @!#%#$%^%$&$ fly spray

the frozen peas have once again got their work cut out for them.. my foot is swollen, red and blotchy and it burns and I have a mild case of the shakes

Spiders, bee, flys, other creepy, flying or crawlies are ok.....but wasps and I have always had a bad history....I'm thinking That perhaps my reacting to getting stung so many times over they years..I ,may be slightly allergic, .....given that this time I feel a lot worse with the extra bite

So unless someone can come up with a natural way to get rid of them...I'm declaring a chemical war and short of napalm...(cause it wouldn't be good for the other animals).... their toast soon as the sun sets.....

The insect know something this human doesn't...
Seems there have been lots of issues with wasp the last few weeks - according to many at my work

plus a part time Bee Keeper friend said her hives of approx ,15,000 disappeared last week overnight, good queens, good supply pollen etc,
hives have just been abandoned, lavae still in them, no signs of problems, like them swarming, she said a lot of Bee keepers in her area are experiencing the same thing - non can find were their bees are

Queensland many be in for some REALY bad weather, if the insect are doing this (well that and 2 more cyclones up the "top end") manybe worst flooding is yet to come and the insect have moved to higher ground

"snigger" ..littlefoot... how did you know I only had a size 5 / 36 foot?...damn google earth and their arial maps

                                 Will I not learn?
 The littte bastards struck again

Two bites on the knuckle of the middle finger, my hand looks like a swollen pink ink blot, and itchy ( was moving my bonsai out of the pouring rain and didn't see the nest, woke the house up again with a few rude (but mild) words)

high ho, high ho of to the doctors I go

 cortisone, histamine and antibiotic
Doc thinks they got me on a vein, so it went straight in my system, explain the massive swelling in less than 20 minutes,

 down side:
medical expences, day off work, and a puggy hand
a course of antibiotics, histamine and cortisone cream (don't get sick often and tend to avoid medication unless I feel on deaths door), one handed typing
 frozen veg as icepack

 Up side:
raining heavy outside - comfy cloths, roads bad, flooding- inside (would have been a slow day at work and a short shift)
 animals around me
gatchamania plus chance to finish Badbury story
 excuse to take it slow
have spare frozen veg for icepack
 comfort food
ebay - window shopping from the comfort of mt couch

of all the deadly animals in Australia, I have a problem with paper wasps - go figure.

LW, get an epi-pen from your doctor. Benedryl and cortisone will help with the symptoms, but if the reaction is getting worse, epinephrine will save your life.
If your wasps are anything like the ones we have, they won't fly at night. Get a friend or family member who isn't allergic to clean out the nest for you. There is likely a larger hive/nest nearby in the ground, so that should be found and destroyed, too. If it is under your porch, fill it with concrete. If it is in the open and not near a structure or low trees, pour gasoline into it, let it sit a minute or two, and then burn them out (that's what my father-in-law used to do, but then he was a firefighter and knew how to assess the safety of it and put it out if it got out of control).

Hope you get rid of them soon.
