I can't really believe Spiellberg is that much of a fan.

At the credits at the beginning of the firest series, there was scenes in CGI which looked cool but I very much doubt they can pull it off if they are doing a live action one and are they going to set it in Japan or America?

As a GITS fan, all I can say is, NOW, I am worried. And what Managa comic or cartoon are they gonna to do next?
