For those of you who haven't heard, the Russo brothers (of Marvel's Avengers fame) stated at the ComicCon in San Diego in July that they loved BotP as kids and would love to make a live action movie. There's no time table at this time.
What do you think?
I love the idea and hope they'd stay true to the BotP story-line - no Gatchaman parts at all, especially regarding G-2s demise. But could they do a version of Zark that's not annoying?

I also love the idea, and hope that they actually make the movie. For it to work they will need to stay as close as possible to the original characters, vehicles and structure.
I think the story-line could be tweaked a little for a more modern audience without offending those of us who grew up with the cartoon.
I don't know what I would do with Zark if I were them! I think he (and 1-Rover-1) needs to be there, but maybe his role could be less about telling all the kids that no one died! And NO fosdic jokes!!!

I only hope they stay true to the storyline... This is just a great chance to introduce a whole new generation to BoTP. And we can start guessing who will play our five birdies...Any suggestions???

I don't watch very much actor/actress driven TV or go to many movies anymore to know who's out there that might fit the bill.
Hopefully they'll stay as true as they can to what they look like. Maybe Tom Selleck as Chief Anderson? He's getting old but I think he would pull it off.

A long time ago (those on the Yahoo group might remember it), someone suggested Orlando Bloom as Zoltar. I still think this would be an inspired choice!

If there's a Zark - there's no way they could NOT have him be annoying and be "true to form" : P
Honestly, am not sure how I feel about it - IMHO they never "hit all the right marks" (no pun intended! LOL). But I'm really insanely picky about such things. But if they actually make the film I'll watch it at some point.

Years ago there was a magazine called Wizard and it had articles about sci fi movies, comics, etc. When the BotP comics were out in 2001-2002, they has an article about who would play the characters if there was a movie. From what I remember, they had the actor who played the oldest son in the series Seventh Heaven for Mark and *choke* Ashton Kutcher for Jason. I can't remember the others.
I always thought David Cassidy looked like Mark if his hair was a little darker. Patrick Swayze would have been a great older Jason, but a young Dennis Quaid for Jason. I had trouble coming up with someone for Princess, Tiny and Keyop.

Personally, I think it would be best if unknowns were cast in at least the majority of roles (I'm sure they'll want at least one well-known actor to attract a larger audience). I can't think of any well-known actor who could be true to any of the roles.
