I'm so glad you were able to watch it.
I was pretty stoked when I clicked on the first one and it actually played. I hadn't really expected it to work!

Thanks for posting the link to the facebook page, Katblu42. I've now watched the first ep. Seemed pretty good.

The thing I find annoying about a lot of Japanese shows is the cutesy-poo voices of the female characters. Maybe it's a cultural thing, but it gets my hackles right up.

I'm finding it interesting, and engaging. I must have checked Facebook about 5 times today to see if Episode 5 had been posted yet (which it has, and yes I have watched it!). They definietly have me wanting to see more!
Each episode gives me more peices of a jigsaw puzzle that I'm trying to fit together without the benefit of the picture on the box. So far it's like having the corner pieces and a few edges, but only a vague idea of the overall picture.

Watched ep 2. The plot certainly seems interesting. I just hope that the writers have a plan to resolve it that doesn't result in a TPK.

WARNING: SPOILERS

The heroes seem to be remarkably sanguine about the news that their home worlds have been destroyed -- "Okay, everyone I ever cared about has been blasted out of existence... let's make pasta and live in the moment!" Ken at least takes a shot at trying to find a way to restore his word, while Tetsuya curls up on the couch and laments that he can't taste pasta. Because, yeah, Tetsuya, a whole bunch of worlds -- entire worlds, dude -- have been destroyed, and it's still all about your angst.

At least Emi's voice seems a little stronger in Episode 2. But the female villain still sounds like she's auditioning for the part of Susan in BotP.

Also... Case. Pencil. Case. Pencil case. Was that deliberate or a case of bite the wax tadpole? (I bought a pencil case once with a built in calculator purely because the brand name was... wait for it... "Spectra." I still have it.)

The cutsey voice is a Japanese cultural thing if I recall correctly. Girls pitch up and guys pitch down voice-wise.

I hadn't somehow noticed the pencil case thing, LOL

Takashi's laid back attitude about it I can kind of understand. He's been in this world for a year so he's had time to find some kind of acceptance.

I guess that's one way of ensuring that women don't present as threatening to men. I don't think I would get on very well in Japan.

Yes, but the others haven't, and apart from Emo Kid, they all accept Takeshi's suggestion as a handwave to the nightmare fuel and carry on without so much as needing to go for a long walk or have a bit of quiet time to process the enormity of what's happened.

Having said that, Ken's reaction to the induction cooktop was adorkable and I like the way they all call him, "Gramps," because he's, like, 24 or something.

Yes, Ken has some very adorkable moments. Smile And it's cute watching him try to be super-serious and very supportive at the same time!

The "Gramps" thing cracks me up, too!
