I think I recall the Archies saying stuff like, "You kid not, Juggie!" and things like that.

TJ, my memories of the Archies are so vague, I'm lucky to remember their names. If someone asked me what Jughead's nickname was I would have thought Jughead.

KT, I remember the phrase "I kid you not", but the variation on it just seemed so odd, like someone was trying to recite Shakespeare very poorly.

And why did they use the pyramid? It makes no sense.

Hmm, they mention using alternative transport, but then they use the pyramid... so where are their own vehicles then?

Maybe the artists didn't want to draw the vehicles, so they decided to have the pyramid act like some real tornadoes do -- go back into the clouds and then touch down again a distance away.

I agree, I think the tornado was the 'alternate transportation'.

Amethyst, I was a HUGE Archies fan. I still have a good chunk of my old comics. (the ones that weren't destroyed in our basement flood, anyhow Frown )

So for the record, Jughead's real name is Forsythe P. Jones. Jughead is his nickname. Juggie is a nickname for his nickname.

And yeah, Forsythe is a horrible name, but like Archibald and Reginald (Archie and Reggie) are really any better? There are many examples of horrible, old-fashioned first names for men in the Archies. Besides the 3 I mentioned, there is Hiram, Dilton, Merton and Waldo. Wink

And Princess is flesh colored again.

It would have looked better if their capes had been spread out to at least make it look like they were gliding.

Then you'd better keep your eye out for a fic I'm finishing now -- it deals with most of the pokey-stick posts I've gotten over the past couple of weeks! devilspin
