In my universe I updated their clothes and hair. I guess I realized they would not fit in any more wearing that clothing today. Not that todays clothing would work in the future, but I always imagine they are around NOW not in some future or past time.

Frankly, why have them wear special clothing at all? Just have their clothing (whatever it is) dematerialize in place of their Birdstyle. All that's necessary is the bracelet.

Oh they do not have special clothes in my universe. What ever they wear transmutes with them, or dematerializes as you say.
Also in my universe the bracelet is not even necessary, it was just a focal point, when they were younger. By accident it was discovered that all the team needs is the chip in their heads to transmute. (Jason was dangling off a cliff and could not maintain his grip, bracelet off as he was undercover. As he fell he thought about/wished for his wings. Mentally reached inside remembering what transmutation felt like and then....his Uniform was on and he glided to saftey.)
