I agree, this is cause for concern!

Exactly! I knew you guys would understand my pain! I love the Smurfs... as they were on Saturday morning TV in the 80s. That's why I picked up those DVDs for my kids to begin with! But running around New York City, with a rap version of 'La la la la la la...' it's just WRONG!!!!!

Thanks for the warning, TJ! Fortunately, even for me, my kids, although at a tender age, already do not like to see that show, which BTW is being aired at present on an Italian channel early in the morning! You don't even know how fast I switch channel when I happen to see them on screen! I used to watch some episodes when I was a kid but I always wasn't such a fan! And I don't know them by the name "Smurfs" but by the name "Puffi", which also pushes me away!

Get this. This is the movie's plot according to Wikipedia:

Set in the Middle Ages, the evil wizard Gargamel (Hank Azaria) discovers the Smurf's village and chases them into some woods. The Smurfs get scattered and Clumsy Smurf (voiced by Anton Yelchin) wanders into a "forbidden" grotto and some of the other Smurfs follow. Since it's also a blue moon, a magical portal within the grotto transports them into Central Park in New York.[3] They take shelter with a married couple (Neil Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays) and try to find a way back to their village before Gargamel finds them.

So Moe The Bartender is playing Gargamel, eh? That's not enough.

Neil Patrick Harris is in this?

What the heck have they got on him to make him do this?!?

When you need money .... you will do anything.

Not that I know about his financial situation. When he/I was younger I used to watch anything with him in it though. These days I see him around doing walk ons in various shows, so he must still be popular.

I think he's popular on one of those sitcoms... I can't remember what it's called, but I see ads for it...

You know I think you are correct. I think I saw an add when we were watching Big Bang together.

I loved his role in the sitcom "How I met your Mother" ... I don't know if you were referring to that one, TJ and CD!

Is that what he is staring in at the moment? If it it that was probably it.

I think he has also taken over Tobey Maguire's role in the sequel to Cats and Dogs.

Middle son wants to see that this weekend for his birthday. Am hoping that we can talk him into the water park instead. All that will cost is us gas and bottled water (nearly as expensive as the gas).

I know! Movies are so darn expensive! It cost our family of 2 adults and 2 kids $50 to see Toy Story 3!!!! That was a matinee, with one bag of popcorn. This is why we so rarely go to the theatre. It's much cheaper to just buy the DVD 6 months later.

ETA Of course, it might be worth the extra $$$ to just see the Smurf movie in the theatre, and never buy the DVD. IF I get the DVD, it will be watched over and over and over and over.... UGH!

I've been watching the sitcom I've mentioned some time ago, so I don't think it's something going on at present! Maybe it's the one, Amethyst has mentioned.
