That is a good fic -thanks for reminding me of it!

I was just watching the BOTP version here:

Yes, I agree we can assume that something very interesting happened after the "It's not your car," line. But I wonder why Lucy would say "I shouldn't have told you how I feel," -the only reason I could think she might have regrets about her off-screen time with Jason is that it made them fall behind in the race!

TJ, your Gatch recap has tears rolling down my cheeks from all the laughter. I kept thinking that the reason why the GP was so late in showing up is Ken and Jun finally realized that they had to switch pants.

Also I loved the part about Joe's number changing to red. Then when he gets a little miffed at Lucy, his number is gold again.

I could go on for awhile but I should check other things... again, wonderful recap!

Glad you liked it, GG! If you and LB like it, then I've clearly done justice to a Condor episode. Wink

And I have another Condor episode assigned to me that is coming up very shortly... Big Grin

Its a classic Condor Ep. I think is shows his better side towards the end. The one of caring about Lucy and wanting to help her flee Galactor...sigh...and it all ended in tears.

I also thought that, perhaps, Katse could have become aware that Lucy was a traitor by having implanted some type of communicating or registering device in her, being a cyborg, that would have given the Galactors the means by which they could have known what the cyborg was saying instantly. Just assuming!

Guardians of Space makes mention of a planted transmitter.

I've often pondered Lucy's "What's it been? Five years?" comment. The writers establish that these two know each other, but never provide any more info. I've generally assumed that if it really has been five years (and she's not exaggerating, or bad at chronology) then Joe, at least, must have just been a kid that hung around race tracks although she might have been racing then (she could be some years older than Joe) and was, I assume, not a cyborg yet.

Same problem as with Jun and Koji. Lucy does come across as four or five years older then Joe. In both cases, I think it was of kids finding a friend/mentor in the field they were interested in.

Thanks for the info, Candi! It's rather interesting how so many things can vary from one universe to another, having certain information included in one or excluded from another!

I, hereby, also wish to thank you for your GoS recaps you're adding, together with the different perspectives! I might not add a comment under each episode, but I wish you to know how much your contribution is appreciated!

I like the idea of metnioning a transmitter. That makes a lot of sense!

And ITA that Lucy might have been more of a 'mentor' to Joe, but in Jun and Koji's case, in the flashbacks she's clearly older and already wearing her civvies uniform!

If I recall, I surmised that Jun was about 14 in her flashback memories of Koji and there were certainly some innocent, romantic overtones, implying something more than a strictly friend/mentor relationship between her and Koji. Still, they did have motorcycles as a common interest, and he'd been reputed to be a "hotshot" racer.

Now Joe's probably 18 in episode 27, which would mean that if Lucy hasn't seen him in 5 years, then he was about 13 or even younger back when they knew each other. I don't think anyone would have been letting him race cars at a track at that age, but if Lucy were 4 or 5 years older, I could believe she might have tolerated 12 or 13 year old Joe hanging around, especially if he were obsessed with cars and racing and eager to learn, and been a friend/mentor to him -though I really can't see anything of a romantic nature happening between them then! (Later, now that's different...)
