I read a fic once... can't recall it now... where the Team's real names were Ken, Joe, Jun, etc., and their code names were Mark, Jason, Princess, etc. That way they could refer to each other on a mission but not reveal 'their true identities'....

That's probably too deep for these Gold Key comics! ROFL 2

Oh, now that's really sort of a good idea. Did the writer give an explanation, though, why Jun and Jinpei got "Princess" and "Keyop"?

I've just noticed that in the comic here, Zoltar is calling the Keyop-robot "Robot #3" and the Jason-robot "Robot #4."

Clearly, he may know what their faces look like and what their names are, but he doesn't know their team ranks!

Hmmph... Jason as #4. *shakes head*

Obviously those numbered t-shirts have confused him... Wink

I don't remember ever reading that fic. Sounds interesting, though.

Okay there's one really obvious error here, but it's still a weird pic!

Yeah, major shirt error! Or did Mark get demoted? Or is this really Mark, lying to Zark and pretending to be Jason?

Oh wait -Mark's got light hair in this comic...

Maybe Jason is pretending, for some reason, to be Mark? Or he secretly indulges his fantasy of being the leader by putting on his special red "#1" shirt when he's far away from the rest of the team?

Hair's wrong, shirt's wrong (both by person and color). It just outright looks weird.

I vaguely remember hearing about a fic where Mark and Jason impersonate women on a college campus. Did anyone ever read one like that?

Sounds like this one of Lori McDonald's fics...

It is very funny!

Posted by Transmute Jun on 31-07-2011 at 19:49:

If you look at the face though, it kind of resembles Mark. I think they just used the wrong name and mixed up the hair color. But you can't be certain...

LB, I love the idea that Jason is indulging in 'secret leader fantasies' while away from the rest of the team! Roll

I am with TJ ... I too had to chuckle at Jason indulging in a leadership fantasy.

And I remember reading that story as well, Becky. Thank you for posting the link LB.

Thanks, LB, for the link. I got a kick out of it and shared some with my 14 year old son.

It occurs to me that he's not being exactly discreet about using his wrist communicator in public either, shouting into it in the middle of a concert, with people all around.

Then again, people there seeing a guy trying to talk to his wrist watch would probably just think he's on some trippy drug.

That's presuming they're even paying attention. Rock concerts are not known for fostering people's observational skills.

True!

Something about Jason specifically saying he's in London caught my attention and I've just realized why...

In Gatch, the Team goes to lots of different countries -but always fictional ones (though they often resemble real countries very closely) but in BOTP, I can only think of one episode where G-Force goes to another country (here on Earth) that is a real, existing country -"Panic of the Peacock," when Zark specifically says they're in India (called "Ashram," if I recall, in Gatch).

Anyone think of any others?

Posted by UnpublishedWriter on 03-08-2011 at 23:48:

The Gatch country is Asham (no 'r'). Although Indelhia is also supposed to include India.

Portugal is mentioned in Siege of the Squids.

Since they mention the 'Bermuda Triangle' in that episode with the mecha factory (title escapes me), I tend to include Bermuda.

The Dominican Republic in Beast With a Sweet Tooth.

Africa is the setting in Race Against Disaster. No actual African nations are mentioned.

I believe they have Inderia or Indria in Gatch II... I'd have to search to confirm.

Now that I'm back I'll post a few more of these. Look for one soon!

Well, we already know what Jason's doing in London... He's at a rock concert and wearing an imitation-Mark t-shirt.

But now Mark has gone and dyed his hair blue to be just like Jason's! And he's checking out girls-who-are-not-Princess in pink bikinis...

I think they're really trying to each be the other! Laugh2

As for Princess... I hope she realizes how awful that dress is, and that she's hoping the sight of it would truly damage Zark!

Posted by clouddancer on 24-08-2011 at 18:00:

I was thinking that dress/cape had a slight implication of Zoltar, with those "flares" sticking up like horns beside the model's head.

Good point, Cloud.

I would think taking vacations separately unwise - what if they were needed? Poor Tiny would have to fly all over the world to pick them up.
