Gatchaman Safety Gear??

I'm not 100% sure what this is...maybe someone can give us better details...but I saw this on You Tube and thought I'd share. It appears to be Gatchaman promoting wearing safety gear of some sort. They should have made bird helmets *grin*. Ok, I know they wouldn't really be functional, but still... Wink

I'd be surprised if it wasn't a PSA for using protective gear (and using it properly ) while motorcycling.

Thanks, Redbird...my icon was drawn by an artist named Haha. It was black and white, so I colored it and added hearts for Valentine's Day. Wink

It looks like it was very recent. The earliest mention I've found about it was a January 28 posting of the video on YouTube from what looks like the official department.

I checked in Japan thinking fans there may have a more precise date for it, but they're thinking February. It's unknown yet if Tatsunoko had any involvement in the animation.

Hi all!

the Metropolitan Police Department in Japan has started their annual "Safety Rider Contest." The ad for this makes use of a scene from this video.

The contest is really more of a pledge by riders to be drive safely than a challenge against other people. People can sign up either individually or in groups of three, and if they can avoid being in accidents or receiving safety violations during the contest period (May 1st through October 31st for groups, May 1st through February 28th for individuals), they'll receive an achievement certificate and a souvenir of some sort.
