I'm so sorry it came to that EW. Big hugs your way. For what its worth i had a friend in a similiar circumstance a few years ago that lost a leg as a result of infection and other complications following a motorcycle accident and he was glad once he was healed up. He had been in so much pain for so long (like maybe a year or longer) he said he actually felt better without the damaged limb and was back to his old self resuming activities he had given up during all thr attempts to save the leg within a few months. I have faith things will go that way for,you as well. You'll feel better than you have in ages and resume your life. There just aren't enough hugs i can send your way!

Right now the surgeon is concerned about my skin coming together and closing the wound. The skin wasn't in the best shape, so he's afraid the (*I can't help shuddering at this*) flaps will return to their original position.
Other than that, they've finally got the pain managed, and I'm now a little loopy from the meds! (What fun!)
