I'm saddened to hear of the passing of the great author, and Discworld creator, Terry Pratchett, at the age of 66.

I know I have had the pleasure of enjoying his books, and I'm sure there are many others on here who are also fans of his work. Hope he rests in peace.

Yeah, I first read about it last night. That's so horrible. And he wasn't even that old. I've always enjoyed his books, I even got my mom hooked on them. No more reading about Death and the Death of Rats. Crying5

I hadn't heard. I've never read his works, but I know a lot of people really loved them.

66 is too young in today's age to pass on.

My mom's been suffering of clinical depression ever since I've been about ten-ish and she found the Discworld stories to be really helpful. I myself, who introduced her to them, became acquainted to Pratchett's works through my former classmate during our daily trips from school to home. That was about twelve years ago. I still remember the day when I first asked her to lend me the book after reading over her shoulder. To think that Pratchett is no longer here... though I was never a hardcore fan, the news of his death hit me in a very particular personal space
