Dragonriders of Pern movie?

I just read Warner Bros bought the rights to all 22 Dragonriders of Perns books by Anne McCafferty from her estate and hired a writer for the first movie just 3 days ago.

Those were some of the first sci fi books I ever read. I have a small stuffed gold little fire dragon I bought about 25 years ago at the Maryland Renaissance Festival.

If they do it, I hope they do it right.

I agree Becky. She was one of the first writers that I started following & collecting the works of. I re-read that series every few years. I've got my fingers crossed that they won't FUBAR this one. Though it's been optioned for TV and movies before and had the deals fall through - there were some approaching in-production status before they fell apart too, so will wait and see what happens.

I had heard about this some months ago...fingers crossed for it, although some other adaptations have been quite nice.
