This was the first news item I saw when I got up this morning:

That is such sad news. I feel for her loved ones as well. I could see them recast the part or use a virtual actress with footage they already have. Personally I would rather see them write her out as sad as it is. It could lead to some good character development.

So sad...I know some of the current actors do a pretty good imitation of her. They may recast, but we may notice a difference. I'm wondering how they will handle this...

I agree! Although I'm a few seasons behind, Howard needs to move one, and while this is sad and tragic, it could be very good for the character.

NCIS had to deal with this last year with the passing of Ralph Waite. They did a wonderful job oh honoring the actor and the character.

it is possible that they recast after waiting maybe a series, when viewers are less likely to notice a subtle change, ( I can see Howard possibly using the line "Mom's lost her voice - it's bliss")

or, in respect to the memory of Ms. Susi, they could find a fitting way to write the character out.

Either way, her passing is a sad loss to the program, and may she Rest in Peace.

I think they should write the character out. Given her recent closeness with Stuart, if she left everything to him, that would really get Howard's goat.

It was very moving to read the tributes of the other actors and of the audience -- for a cast member with only a voice part, she was dearly loved.
