One of my friends told me they don't want to be friends anymore
Today a friend of mine on YouTube just told me that they heard something about me from somebody who was one of the people who's be trolling me and they said they don't want to be friends with me anymore because of what they heard from the troll, which was a lie! Can you believe that? Somebody ends their friendship with me just because one of those asshole trolls lied about me to them! I tried to get in contact with the person telling them that what they heard was not true, but I haven't heard back from them yet. I don't know what to do with myself. I don't know how to ease pain like this. I just lost a friend over a lie someone told them about me! Well at least I still have you guys who I think after being here for seven months I can say are some of the nicest if not THE nicest people I ever saw on a message board or anywhere else on the internet for that matter.

If tht person prefers to believe somebody else about you, rather than clarifying from you themselves, then they aren't worth having as a friend.
Let them go - they'll discover the error soon enough!

I second the notion, they can't really be much of a friend.

I totally agree, Allen.
You can't control other people and what they say, but you can control your reactions to what you hear. If your 'friend' chooses to believe immediately what they heard without speaking you first... Well, you're better off without them.
True friendship is a work in progress. You work at trust and understanding, compromise and honesty. At what point has this person done any of this?

What do you mean? I said I found out all about this yesterday.

What I meant, Allen, was that a true friend would have come to you first to find out what they heard was true instead of having the immediate reaction of ditching you.

I agree with what the others have already told you, Allen! This friend of yours is not worthy of your friendship if he/she believes to what someone else can falsely say about you before seeking your version first! IMO, you did well in trying to explain and clear your situation, even if, sometimes, you're not obligated to do so. If you still do not receive any response in the future, just let go! And remember ... lies always have a short life! When this "friend" discovers the truth, at the end, you'll be the one to look up to!
